This has been my “unpacking” song. Matt and I moved back to Bloomington last week, and it has been nothing short of a crazy few days. When it’s late at night and I’m still unpacking, this is my favorite song. Introducing my 99¢ pick of the week: Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. Sooo good.
Another ESSENTIAL Lesson in Becoming a Pole Vault Expert
A while back I posted about pole vault and the metric system. There is a huge disconnect between many spectators and the rest of the pole vault world. We as athletes deeply want people to be enthused and excited about our sport, but there is little out there to educate the fans about the ins and outs of the event. So throughout the year I will be dedicating posts to helping people, vaulters included, become experts in an event that sometimes seems to be spoken in another language.
99¢ Pick of the Week: Free My Mind (RAC Remix) by Katie Herzig
I’m tellin you straight up, you need this song in your life. Thats why it’s my 99¢ pick of the week. It’s one of those perfect “feel good day” songs. You know, the kind of song that makes you roll the windows down in your car. This song moves me from the first moment. I don’t know about you, but I die for songs with string instruments in them, and thats how this one got me hooked at first. But then when you think it can’t get any better, it hits a sweet beat, and your toe taps convincing your body and spirit that you can conquer the world. I’ve had a rough couple days myself, and this song made me feel like dancing. Please enjoy!!
PART 2: Where Does Failure Fit On the Road to Success?
99¢ Pick of the Week: Baba O’Riley by The Who
This song is one of those clutch songs that should already be on the pump up mix on your iPod. If it isn’t, shame on you. If it is, rock on my friend.
I can’t remember a time when The Who didn’t get me jacked up. The whole song is amazing really, but from about 3:37 on to the end, you never know what could happen to you. I often times burst into a crazy jig, a kick line, or I spin in circles. Turn it on, turn it up, and see what happens to you.
